A few weeks ago, when the Cuban Ministry of Communications announced the new regulations that would regulate the radio spectrum in Cuba, several were the reactions of Internet users and users. The regulations will allow Cuban citizens to use private data networks, access the Internet with remote connection from their homes and import wireless technology equipment for it.

This week, the ministry's web portal has published  the list with the Relationship of some of the devices for wireless high-speed data networks (RLANs) , in the frequency bands of 2400 to 2483.5 MHz and 5725 to 5850 MHz, which comply what is established in Resolution 98/19 and its importation to natural persons can be authorized as of July 29, 2019.

According to the information offered by the entity's website, the list will be updated. They further noted that the related devices IT Infrastructure Architect in the table constitute a part of the universe of these media, taken from those that are frequently imported into the country.

The note issued by the ministry explains that to the extent that natural persons make requests for Technical Authorization for the Importation of equipment that meets the technical characteristics established in the regulations, they will continue adding it to the list.

At the time the legislation enters into force, if the device you wish to import does not appear among the existing brands and models in the online form, you must send your request to the, specifying the brand, model and attaching the technical specifications of the device ( data sheet ) issued by the manufacturer or supplier, detailing, among other aspects, the frequency bands in which it operates and the operating powers in each band.

This measure complies with the announcement we made earlier, regarding the ordering of the radio spectrum in Cuba .
